“ransom”

H3724 ֶ

ֹפר

kôpher ko’-fer

From H3722; properly a cover, that is, (literally) a village (as covered in); (specifically) bitumen (as used for coating), and the henna plant (as used for dyeing); figuratively a redemption price: – bribe, camphire, pitch, ransom, satisfaction, sum of money, village. 2 “soul” H5315 נֶ ֶפ Nephesh neh’-fesh From H5314; properly a breathing creature, that is, animal or (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental): – any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, X dead (-ly), desire, X [dis-] contented, X fish, ghost, + greedy, he, heart (-y), (hath, X jeopardy of) life (X in jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortality, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thy-) self, them (your) -selves, + slay, soul, + tablet, they, thing, (X she) will, X would have it. “plague-failure-destruction-mortality” H5063 negeph neh’-ghefגףֶ ֶנ From H5062; a trip (of the foot); figuratively an infliction (of disease): – plague, stumbling. “shekel” The half shekel was not a coin but a unit of weight. There were three “weights” to the shekel: the merchants’ weight, the Temple weight, and the royal weight. The merchants’ shekel was the typical weight for day to day transactions. The Temple shekel was heavier than the merchant’s shekel. The following is the weight of the shekel: Shekel= 11.4 grams 20 gerahs (seeds?) = a shekel ½ shekel = .2121 ounces ½ shekel about the weight of a common nickel 3 Question 2b: Water was one of the most important ingredients in the use of the Tent of Meeting and the Temple. Without water the Priests could not function or carry out their duties for the people of Israel. Therefore without Priests sacrifices could not be made; without water, washing the unclean and impure personal items could not be cleansed; women and men could not be cleansed after intimacy; after the birth of a child a woman needed to be cleansed by water; after a woman’s period, water was used for her purification; touching creeping crawly things that were prohibited by the Heavenly Father required washing (even after returning from the market place); utensils that became impure because of various exposures needed water for cleansing. The list goes on. Without being cleansed by water the Temple could not be approached, nor animals slain. People could not be redeemed and the breech that occurred between the Heavenly Father and His people because of sin, could not be repaired. In fact, water is the main reason for life. Remember in Gen. 9:4, Lev. 17:11 and 14, and Deut. 12:23 — that the “life is in the blood.” Blood is about 92% water. So when the blood from an animal is poured at the base of the altar, its “life” is poured out. 92% of the animal’s “life” is water. When the blood was sprinkled in the Holy of Holies during Yom Kippur, for the cleansing and redemption of the nation of Israel, 92% of the fluid was water. When Yeshua died on the execution stake His blood (92% water) washed our sins away. Water is a powerful cleanser, life preserver, and life creating substance that the Heavenly Father chose to do His work. Question 2bi: Water (see 2b above) and anointing oil (Ex 30:25-32). Without the anointing oil to “make that which was anointed set apart” the implements used for the sacrifices could not have been used for their purpose. Without set apart implements, the sacrifices could not have been a “sweet fragrance” to the Heavenly Father, sins could not have been covered, and the redemption of His people could not have occurred. 4 Anointing oil for the separating of the common from the Holy. Water for the cleansing and the continuance of life. Question 3: Bezalel H1212 ְַ צ ֵלְ אל betsal’êl bets-al-ale’ Probably from H6738 and H410 with prepositional prefix; in (the) shadow (that is, protection) of God; Betsalel; the name of two Israelites: Bezaleel. We see the name means “under the protection of El.” What a great name. Seems fitting for the one responsible for making the structure that the Heavenly Father will visit His people in. “wisdom” H2451 חָ כְ מָ ה chokmâh khok-maw’ From H2449; wisdom (in a good sense): – skillful, wisdom, wisely, wit. “understanding-intelligence” H8394 ֻבנָה ְ בנָה ָ בןo tâbûn tebûnâh tôbûnâh taw-boon’, teb-oo-naw’, to-boo-naw’ The second and third forms being feminine; from H995; intelligence; by implication an argument; by extension caprice: – discretion, reason, skilfulness, understanding, wisdom. 5 “knowledge” H1847 ַ ַעת da‛ath dah’-ath From H3045; knowledge: – cunning, [ig-] norantly, know(-ledge), [un-] awares (wittingly). “manner of workmanship” H4399 מְ לָאכָה melâ’kâh mel-aw-kaw’ From the same as H4397; properly deputyship, that is, ministry; generally employment (never servile) or work (abstractly or concretely); also property (as the result of labor): – business, + cattle, + industrious, occupation, (+ – pied), + officer, thing (made), use, (manner of) work ([-man], -manship). Do we understand that we do have a purpose in life? Can we acknowledge our skills and talents? We all have skills and talents. The Heavenly Father did not put us on this earth just to consume air, water, and food. We see in the following scriptures: 1 Corinth. 12:12-31 In Corinthians we understand that there are many members to the “body,” the assembly. The use of the human body as a comparison is useful. We as humans, have many parts. We are complex and every part has to work in unison. The Tent of Meeting was complex. Its structure was dictated by the Heavenly Father. Its use and purpose were dictated by the Heavenly Father. 7 We humans and the Tent of Meeting was made by the Heavenly Father. Each part of His creation had and has a purpose. That includes us!! So, do we think for a moment that we don’t have a purpose in this life? Is our only job “just to exist”? I think we need to rethink who we are. I believe many “feel” (an emotional state) that they don’t want to do anything, or they don’t think that their skills are important. When you allow those kinds of thoughts to govern your life, you are pointing your finger at the Heavenly Father and saying, “I don’t believe the purpose you have for me is correct.” That is like the pot telling the potter that it is in control and will determine what it is meant for. Seems silly, doesn’t it? The Heavenly Father called Bezalel and equipped him with the skills and knowledge to complete his work. The Heavenly Father has called you and equipped you for your purpose. Now the question remains. Are we going to be obedient? Do you think the Heavenly Father will notice if we aren’t participating in His plan?
