Deut. 33
- Israel has sinned with the Golden Calf and Moses comes down from the Mountain sees then naked and shameful, throws down the tablets and they break. Ex. 32
- Moses also gets rid of the Golden Calf and 3000 died by the sword from the Levites. Ex 32
- Moses is told by Yahweh that it is time to leave there and He will send a angel ahead of them and drive out the inhabitants but Yahweh Himself will not go with them. Ex. 33:1-6
- Moses then sets up the tent of meeting outside of the Camp and Joshua refused to come out from the Tent of Meetings. Ex. 33:7-11
- Look closely at Ex. 33:11, Yahweh spoke to Moses face to face as a man speaks to a friend.
- This speaks in terms of relationship, He spoke to mean face to face as a friend.
- The word friend can also be translated Brother, companion, and husband.
- Moses begins to talk to Yahweh in verse 12 saying you have not let me know who you will send with me, I think it is in refer to the angel that Yahweh will send ahead of him. V12
- Moses also reminds Yahweh that He told Moses that He know Moses name and also reminds Him that Moses had found favor in His sight. V12
- Moses goes on to tell Yahweh that if he has found favor in His sight then teach him Your ways and I will know you, and reminds Yahweh that these are His people.V13
- Yahweh then says My presence will go with you, the word presence is translated Face once again it is about relationship. V14
- The product of this relationship is that Yahweh would give him rest, which means to be quiet, to set down. V14
- Moses tells Yahweh if your presence (face) does not go don’t make us go, because it is your presence (face) that gives us favor and distinguishes us fro the rest of the world. V15-16 Look also at Is. 63:8-10
- The question is can we see His presence (face) today?
- Look at John 14:9, If you have seen me you have seen the Father.
- So how can we experience His presence today?
- Ps. 139:7-18, It is a Faith walk
- Deut. 4:39, Faith that He is everywhere
- Jere. 23:24, There is no place we can hind from His presence
- Acts 17:28-29, In Him we live and breath
- John 15:26-27, Holy Spirit will testify of Him
- John 14:26-27, Holy Spirit will remind us of alol that He said
- Gal. 5:22-26, Peace is fruit produced by the Holy Spirit
